Who are we?
Nova Technology is a FinTech service provider for the companies of Nova Group. We develop all apps, sites, backends and cloud infrastructure in-house. Nova Technology is part of the Nova Group. Nova Group consists of four companies, all of which specialize in a certain part of the credit management process. With all companies proverbially under one roof, customers can be taken care of from A to Z.
What are you going to do?
As a backend developer, you will immediately contribute to rebuilding the backend of our Credit Care product. For example, by building the Lambda function that handles a specific feature behind the API as a microservice. Or by building an API consumer for one of the accounting software packages used by our clients.

You are an engineer at heart, capable of making decisions to devise the best solution for the problem at hand. You are transparent in your choices and seek alignment with your colleagues where necessary. For instance, with the tech lead if you believe there are better solutions than those within the current architecture’s constraints.
Our stack
We build our products in a modern cloud-native stack, utilizing cloud services as effectively as possible. We leverage services from our cloud provider to avoid reinventing the wheel. The frontends are built in Angular and hosted on AWS using Docker containers in ECS. The backend is accessed via a GraphQL API built on AWS AppSync. Our data resides in a NoSQL database and is accessed through Lambdas. Infrastructure-as-code is written by the backend team in Python with CDK. In essence, we are working on a serverless, cloud-native, and data-driven SaaS application.

Furthermore, you understand that you and your colleagues learn and make mistakes every day. You also feel responsible for the end product of your team and not just for your own part. Finally, you hate doing the same thing more than once and will automate as much repetitive work as possible.
What skills do you have?
- You have several years of experience in backend development in a professional environment.
- You have experience building REST or GraphQL APIs.
- You have experience consuming SOAP, REST, or GraphQL APIs.
What skills are an advantage for this position?
+++ You have experience working with AWS Lambda.
++ You have experience working with commonly used APIs in the financial sector, such as those of well-known accounting software packages.
++ You have experience with these AWS services: DynamoDB, AppSync, or Cognito.
+ You have experience working with SOAP APIs.
+ You have experience working with GitLab CI/CD.
+ You have experience working in the financial sector.
